Third Thursday Astronomy Night

Thu, Nov 16

8:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.

The Boxyard

502 East Third Street, Tulsa

View on Map

Every 3rd Thursday of the month, we take our Celestron telescopes up on The Boxyard deck to see what we can see, and to become familiar with the telescopes. Everyone, regardless of skill level, is invited to come out to stargaze with us. For those just starting out, come and see just how simple and rewarding telescopes are to use. If you have a telescope of your own, feel free to bring it out as well. All telescopes and accessories are 10% off during astronomy night. This is a weather-permitting event. If the weather looks uncooperative, we will cancel on this page at least several hours in advance. Isn't there light pollution downtown? Yes. The light pollution means downtown isn't the best area for deep space observing. But as long as it isn't cloudy we'll still be able to see the brighter objects in the sky (moon/planets) as well as terrestrial objects, like the buildings downtown. Plus you'll get to learn how to use the equipment before taking it out into the pitch black.
