ABOUT TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
ABOUT TEDxUniversityofTulsa In the fall of 2014, two students in the NOVA Fellowship at TU decided that they wanted to bring an event to campus that would showcase the talent of ideas of our students and faculty. Katie Snyder and Hannah Hutchison decided that TED's platform would be perfect for this purpose. They licensed TEDxUniversityofTulsa through TED, created a new organization through Student Association on campus, and organized the first ever half-day event. Each year, a new organizer is recruited to plan this event and make it a lasting part of the TU community.
