Benny Ketchum (1934-2010)

Ketchum was the band leader of “Benny Ketchum and the Western Playboys," who were the house band at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa in the later 1950s and early 1960s. Wayne Kemp, Leon Russell, David Gates, Jimmy Markham and JJ Cale all played with Ketchum before heading out in their own solo careers.

Ketchum also toured many years with the Grand Ole Opry and with Little Jimmy Dickens, Bobby Helms and Ray Price.
