We've gathered together ten of our favorite vegan- and vegetarian-friendly restaurants in Tulsa. Under each restaurant, we've included a little description of our favorite reason to go. Check these spots out and tag us on Facebook or Instagram whenever you go! 

Chimera coffee shop and restaurant located in the Tulsa Arts District in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. It's got plenty of vegan and vegetarian options in addition to hosting local events.

For coffee and healthy bites

Located in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District, Chimera is a trendy, industrial chic cafe that will satisfy all of your cravings, whether that be micro-roasted coffee, espresso BBQ-glazed cauliflower wings, or their famous all-day, plant-based breakfast tacos. Chimera focuses on serving up healthy, nutrient dense vegetarian and vegan dishes, with a few meat based options your carnivorous friends can enjoy, too. We recommend their Tulsa Time Toast paired with a Hazelnut Coffee Soda for a tasty and refreshing brunch. Chimera’s patio is open all day, every day, so put on some sunscreen and get ready to dig in on a (mostly) guilt-free meal.

Classic Indian cuisine

India Palace is Tulsa’s oldest Indian restaurant, opening its doors on South Lewis Avenue in 1974. They have a balanced selection of meat and plant-based options, as well as an extensive lunchtime buffet. They will level their spice to suit your tastes, so whether you’re looking for mild or extra hot, they got you covered. India Palace prides themselves on bringing authentic Indian cuisine to Tulsa, and is open seven days a week, so you can always get your fix. Pro-tip, get the Paneer Makhani, Malai Kofta Kashmiri, Vegetable Samosas, at least two orders of Garlic naan!

Sustainable Mexican eats downtown

Elote, located in the deco-district of downtown Tulsa, is a leader in promoting local foods and sustainability. With vegan queso, empanadas with beyond beef, and a vegan enchilada tomatillo, they are a favorite for tasty vegetarian and vegan eats. Want to host an event? Elote rents out their restaurant space for a party of up to 60 people! Elote has gained fame for their signature puffy tacos, so you won’t want to skip out on those. While you’re at it, give the grande sweet corn tamale a try, too! 

My Thai Kitchen

Classic Thai cuisine

My Thai has garnished a reputation for  friendly service and delicious Thai fare. With an extensive menu encompassing all of the Thai classics, you have the option to choose the protein on most dishes. So, you can order tofu & veggies in your Pad Thai, no sweat. We recommend the Pad Ka Pow and a Thai Iced Tea if you love the combination of spicy and sweet. My Thai caters to every spice level, and is open Monday through Saturday for your lunch and dinner needs. 

Que Gusto is an Ecuadorian restaurant located in the Tulsa Arts District in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Everyday Ecuadorian cuisine

Que Gusto means “tasty” in Spanish, and the food there is exactly that. With plenty of delicious vegetarian and vegan options, Que Gusto focuses on bringing the best of Ecuadorian cuisine to Tulsa with only the best quality ingredients. If you’re looking for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a sweet dessert to top things off, they have it all. Make sure you try the Arroz Con Vegetales, which is rice with vegetables, soy chorizo, and fried sweet plantains and as well as their Vegan Breakfast Empanada.

Locally sourced everything

Oren prides itself on its progressive, locally-sourced American fare, and is more than willing to accommodate any and all dietary requirements. The vegetarian and vegan items on their menu are well reviewed, and it is the perfect place for brunch in the Brookside neighborhood. For brunch, try the Shakshuka. For lunch or dinner, get the Ricotta Gnudi. And, of course, you can pair any of their dishes with a craft cocktail or some Japanese whiskey.

Founded in 1972, Big Al’s Healthy Foods has been a long-time Tulsa staple for veggie-packed sandwiches and smoothies. They are exclusively a lunch time place and are known for their quick and friendly service. If you’re near E. 15th Street, make sure to give their Zadzekee Wrap a try. It’s loaded with avocado, sunflower seeds, sprouts, and more, topped with their homemade zadzekee dressing. Oh, and don’t forget to get their signature Amanda smoothie!

With two locations in Tulsa, Ediblend is a favorite among acai bowl and juice shot lovers. Looking to kick-off a 3 day cleanse? Ediblend has got you covered. Even if you’re not, you’ll love their variety of salads, bowls, and juices. Ediblend is committed to serving nutrient-packed superfoods to nourish their customers and inspire everyone to live a healthier lifestyle. Their acai bowls are more than Instagram-worthy. We recommend the Original Acai Bowl for a burst of flavor and color.

Taste of Germany

Fassler Hall offers a few vegan and vegitarian friendly menu items, but they really pack a punch! The vegan Beyond Brat with kraut & dijon mustard is a personal favorite and a perfect compliment to any beer. Fassler Hall is the perfect destination to walk to after bar hopping downtown when it's time for a snack. Stop by on Monday's from 11am - Midnight for 1/2 price sausages! More amazing menu items include: giant pretzels with mustard, potato pankakes with applesause and their haus salad with cucumber, tomato, black olive, feta and mustard vinaigrette.

Prossimo Ristorante

For date night

Prossimo Ristorante is the perfect choice for a decadent and indulgent Italian dinner. If you dine-in, you get to watch the fettuccine alfredo made at your table in a hollowed out cheese wheel. And their mozzarella? You’ve never had fresher. Prossimo also boasts a Prosecco bar if you’re in the mood for something bubbly. When you’re there, go for the Spicy Paccheri Alla Vodka paired with their Kale and Pomegranate Salad. You won’t regret it.

Locally sourced

The Local Bison is inspired and developed by Tony & Emily Galvez and is located in the ground floor of The Meridia, a mixed-used development in Downtown Tulsa. Diners can expect Oklahoma favorites with a twist, such as the Oklahoma "lobster" roll made with chipotle butter poached crawfish. All sauces and seasonings are made in-house and in addition to the several vegan and vegetarian options on the menu, almost anything at Local Bison can be made vegan or vegitarian upon request. First timers should try the cauliflouer banh mi or the thunderbird sandwich, and don't forget the side of brussel sprouts!

Playful Asian fusion

Lone Wolf has made a name for itself in Tulsa, offering up fun and delicious pan-Asian fusion. With two locations, one in downtown and one on E. 11th Street, you’ll never be too far away from their unique flavor combinations. Their vegetarian and vegan options are beloved, and the fact that they have kombucha on tap is a huge plus. Any of their banh mi sandwiches can be turned into a salad! Give the Ginger Fritter Banh Mi salad a try, or the sweet and spicy Soy Dijon Portobello Banh Mi if you’re craving a sandwich.
